Refigerated crescent rolls and bread sticks form the crust for this classic sausage and cheese strata.
 

Ingredients

  • 1 lb pork sausage
  • 1-2 lb ground turkey
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp pepper
  • 1/4 tsp cumin
  • 1/2 tsp paprika
  • 1 medium onion sliced into rings
  • 1 10.1 oz can refrigerated crescent rolls
  • 1 16 oz jar roasted bell peppers, drained
  • 2 cups mozarella and cheddar pizza cheese
  • 2 eggs, slightly beaten
  • 1 8 oz can refrigerated garlic bread sticks

Method

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Spray a 9 X 13 pan with nonstick cooking spray. Brown pork and turkey in a frying pan. Season with salt, pepper, cumin and paprika. Brown just until meat is no longer pink. While browning meat, unroll crescent rolls, leaving them together. Press seams together and use them to line pan. Add layers as follows; onions, peppers and cheese. For top layer, weave bread sticks in a basket weave, pulling gently to fit pan, as needed. Bake 40 minutes then let rest 5 minutes before cutting and serving.
