Cracker Barrel Hashbrown Casserole is a favorite recipe of many people that go to the Cracker Barrel, they often go just for the Cracker Barrel hasbrown casserole. The Cracker Barrel hashbrown casserole is rich with cheese, a touch of sour cream, onions, and more. You don’t have to leave home to have a taste of the Cracker Barrel hasbrown casserole, special breakfast treat. I really like this recipe for lunch, or even a dinner. I can’t go to the Cracker Barrel without ordering some of the Cracker Barrel hashbrown casserole. The following recipe is a copycat of the original, but is as close as I have ever come to the taste and goodness of the real thing.

  • Cook Time: Approximately 45 minutes
  • Total Time: 45 minutes (more or less)


2 lb Package
Frozen Hash Browns
8 Ounces
Sour Cream
1 Can
Cream of Chicken Soup
Unsalted Butter
½ Cup
Chopped Onion
2 Cups
Grated Cheddar Cheese

1. Place frozen potatoes in a greased 9×13 inch casserole dish in a level layer. Season with salt and pepper.

2. Melt butter in the microwave.

3. In a bowl, add minced onions, sour cream, cream of chicken soup and melted butter. Mix these items well.

4. Pour soup mixture over potatoes. Sprinkle with Cheddar Cheese.

5. Bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes, or until hot, and the cheese is melted. --- aka --- Grandpaskip
