|2 cups||Steel Cut Oats|
|⅓ cup||Dried Cranberries, blueberries or other favorite|
|⅓ cup||Dried Chopped Apricots,|
|Raisins or Other Favorite Fruit|
|¼ tsp||Salt or, to taste|
|Any Other Spices, to taste, optional|
Combine all ingredients in a 5-6 quart slow cooker. Turn heat to low, cover, and cook until oats are tender and creamy, 7-8 hours.
Other possible combinations: dried mango and pineapple topped with a sprinkle of shredded coconut, dried apples and raisins with a dash of nutmeg and topped with pecans or walnuts, dried blueberries and cranberries and a swirl of lingonberry jam before serving.
